Pricing

Lesson Commons™ is currently in closed beta. We're still shaping the pricing with input from early testers — but here's what we can tell you now.

What We've Decided

Affordable for independent teachers

Lesson Commons™ is built for teachers and tutors who work independently or in small teams — not for enterprise procurement departments. Pricing will reflect that. Think closer to a couple of coffees a month than a streaming subscription.

No lock-in, ever

Everything you create in LC Editor is stored in an open format on your own computer. You can export your content at any time — even if you stop paying. Your materials belong to you, not to us.

Sustainable, not free-then-expensive

We want Lesson Commons™ to last for decades, and that means pricing needs to be fair in both directions — affordable enough that teachers can commit to it long-term, and sustainable enough that we can keep developing it without cutting corners.

Simple and predictable

We don't want teachers doing mental arithmetic to figure out what they'll owe next month. When pricing is finalised, it will be straightforward — no hidden fees, no surprise charges, no complicated tiers you need a spreadsheet to compare.

What's Included

Lesson Commons™ currently offers two tools that work together:

LC Editor

A desktop application for creating lessons, exercises, tests, and full courses. Your content library lives on your own PC — structured, tagged, and always exportable.

LC Learn

A web-based platform where your students complete assignments. Clean, distraction-free, with automatic scoring and instant feedback. Set up groups and publish activities in a few clicks. See at a glance how each group performed and review individual attempts.

How these will be priced — together, separately, or with a free tier — is something we're still working out with our beta testers.

Discounts for Underserved Regions

Education budgets vary hugely around the world. Lesson Commons™ is committed to making the platform accessible where the need is high and resources are limited.

We plan to offer significant discounts — and in some cases sponsored access — for:

If you work in one of these contexts, we would rather talk about how to make Lesson Commons™ viable for you than simply say "no" because of a price point.

Help Us Get Pricing Right

We're actively listening to teachers as we shape the pricing model. If you'd like to try Lesson Commons™ during the beta — or simply tell us what fair pricing looks like from where you sit — we'd love to hear from you.
